Gargantua: VFX Based on Interstellar
A brief Visual Effects (VFX) display of my re-creation of the Super-Massive Black Hole called "Gargantua" in the film "Interstellar," Directed by Christopher Nolan.
Interstellar is one of my favorite movies of all time, for its stunning, other-worldly visuals, and a heartfelt tale of love and time. I was completely blown away by the visualization of the super-massive black hole in the film that they named Gargantua when I first saw it in theaters. It was this year back in August that I woke up and decided to test my skills in being able to completely composite this beast of a singularity in Adobe After Effects.
While I'd definitely love to go back someday and refine this work as a more skilled VFX Compositor, I can say that I am both proud and satisfied with what I was able to produce and replicate with my current understanding of black holes, and my appreciation for the mastery of this film's imaginative shots.
