Pixel Perfect: a screen printed zine

Editorial
The zine is a satire that comments on idealized beauty and how the media is distorting society’s perception of the body. Obviously this is not a new theory by any means, but I want to take a more metaphorical approach to the subject. In the zine I distort photos like the media distorts the perception of beauty and gender. I browsed the Internet and magazines for photo-shopped or “fake" people and scan/printed them out. Just like a swimsuit ad distorts and warps the body to perfection I will skew the form by an analogue method of scenography distortion. The use of synthetic (fluorescent) pink and a thick black plays into the synthetic theme, while it is contrasted by the imperfect, dull paper underneath it.
