Death Becomes Her (1992) is a fairy tale about Vanity.
As part of my Halloween series of illustrations that I create annually referencing horror cinema. I couldn’t skip my favourite movie, in short Madeline Aston (Meryl Streep) and Helen Sharp (Goldie Hawn) are major frenemies who at their own desperate moment drink a potion of immortality and eternal youth.
Unbeknownst to them it also turns them into glam zombies unable to die even when one find themselves with a broken neck and the other with a hole in her stomach. Directed by hollywoods favourite Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future) and with performances by the best of the best “Death becomes her” is Camp, Funny and Comedically Tragic.
