Wood sculpture for Wintersession 2014.
3 1x2" weatherproofed pine boards, brad nails, white string.
This sculpture follows simple transformations of a square frame with one corner perched on the other. Rotation and scale are both the operations that create this piece. The string is used as a mapping device that delineates the rotational movement of the offset frames.
I am interested in synthesizing human constructed systems with naturally occurring ones. This 1-week study attempts to formalize a coalescence between geometric shifts and architectural topography.
