2018 Town of Oakville Annual Report

Mid-way through the year, the Town of Oakville releases their annual report. This traditional document is usually very text and number heavy. In recent years, the design has improved to become more of a visual story celebrating the accomplishments of that year within the community.
Strong, bright and diverse visuals can be found throughout the magazine-style design. Solid coloured contrasting pages face full page photos that showcase Oakville’s livability. These blocks of colour are consistently used within each section to maintain cohesiveness while integrating simple line icons depicting interesting facts and statistics.
In Oakville’s Strategic Plan for 2019-2022, one of the organization’s key areas of focus includes accountability. By making the town’s annual report available and accessible, residents have full transparency on where their tax dollars are being distributed.
This booklet was well received by staff, residents and is always favoured by the Mayor, who uses it as a conversation piece when hosting or attending meetings. Due to the length of the document, budget was set aside to print externally while allowing us to truly showcase our design and beautiful full page photos. This booklet is readily distributed throughout town facilities and made available online through an accessible PDF.
