French School of Austin Tops Annual Contest

As the founder of the French School of Austin, Dr. Hind Louali leverages more than 15 years of educational leadership experience and intensive training through the Centre International d’Études Pédagogiques to advocate for and execute the strategic mission of the independent, bilingual Texas school. In addition, Dr. Hind Louali facilitates professional development for the school's educators and monitors and analyzes student performance.

Students at the French School of Austin, also known as École Jean-Jacques Rousseau, have been among the top French students in the US for the past six years, as evidenced by their performance at the annual Le Grand Concours competition. Seventeen students from the school participated in the 2020 event. Jade Ritchie earned a platinum medal as the highest-scoring student in her division, while 12 other students earned National Laureate distinction. Moreover, the French School of Austin had the most national medalists for the sixth consecutive year.

Four of those 12 medalists received the silver medal for finishing in the 85th percentile, while eight students earned bronze for scoring within the 75th percentile or higher. Nearly 70,000 students from all 50 states participated in the competition, and 651 students earned medals, or National Laureate distinction.
