In this series, I investigate the inside of match-boxes, which are usually filled with one item, matches. Instead, I use the match-box case as inspiration for an imprint, which is left on the cardboard. Each case has a unique theme and color scheme for which some of the inside photographs play upon, while also maintaining the obscurity of the more abstract cases. My idea for this project was to create an environment in which the unexpected grows within the subject, and when revealed, still maintains similar elements, but the outcome is unanticipated. Each scene is constructed to create a surrealist style composition where inspiration can be drawn from both the box or the imprint.
