This is a project I created for my (accepted!) Parsons Application. I decided I really wanted to explore social design, and do something for Mental Illness Awareness. The prompt was to make something based off another project, and as I had made a painting of toys, I wanted to continue to use childhood toys in this project. I decided to focus on children and mental illness, and represent the statistics using Legos, board games, and other things. In the bottom picture, you can see the planning and original ideas, and a bit of my process in creating projects. I think some of the close-up photos are also surprising in how much emotion you can get out of Legos depending on their placement and composition. For example, I really like the shadow of the Lego man dangling on the string. I would fix the font and Photoshop editing if I made this again, but I could definitely see myself making a better version of this idea in the future and more iterations.
