The rising level of plastic pollution in the oceans have made survival tougher for the turtles, an already endangered specie.
Jellyfish contributes to the staple diet of Turtles, and due to the enormous amount of plastic waste in the oceans, turtles often get confused between the two, and end up eating the floating plastic waste, leading to a choking hazard, and ultimately death.
This illustration depicts a turtle surrounded by plastic bags and jelly fishes, unable to
tell the difference between what is edible and what is hazardous.
P.S.: If it takes a pair of perfectly working eyes few seconds to differentiate
between the plastic and the jellyfish in the above illustration,
imagine how tough the survival is getting for our marine friends in the real world.
