la la (2005)
Premieres at the Cattle Depot Theatre
The play was written after Michele's father passed away in 2004.  She wrote the piece to remember her father and expressed her view towards life through this painful loss.  The experiment focused on the idea on "no one could ever see the whole truth" thus dividing the theatre into two halves where members in the audience could only see "half" of the show.  Two girls, one on each side of the stage were searching of something, within a time limit.  They were in their own world, having a different interpretation of life.  At times, they were responding each other without noticing.  At other times, they tried to look for that lost half, hoping to resolve the problems in their side of the world.  But time went by, and the deadline was there.  All we had were just memory that we thought we remember, and perhaps a few music notes from an old music box.
Audience was also invited to be part of the play during the show, adding to the melancholy of the story.
The set - Curtain came down in between and audience could only see their side of the world, overhearing what was going on the other side.
Three months, the doctor said.  Three months later, nothing happened.
I thought you were sixteen hours behind me, how was it possible for you to leave the world earlier than I?
I heard the music, from that tiny little box.  I stared into the box, and found this doll lying in it...  You didn't look like you anymore, you looked... so not alive...
All our conversations across the long distance... from the time grandma took me to the telephone company to we got direct long distance line to fascimile to email to... we stopped talking with each other.  And now, our distance immeasurable, no latest gadget could connect us, all I could do, is write this play.
