Street Art Photography

STREET ART - specifically visual art which have been developed in public spaces or "in the streets". The term usually refers to unsanctioned art, as opposed to government sponsored initiatives.
 
This can include traditional graffiti artwork, though it is often used to distinguish modern public-space artwork from traditional graffiti and the overtones of gang territoriality and vandalism associated with it. Considered by some a nuisance, for others street art is a tool for communicating views of dissent, asking difficult questions and expressing political concerns.
 
The outcome of this themed photography project was to show how street art can be seen as a form of beautifying public spaces rather than a nuisance. Photographs of these works were captured in public spaces located around Singapore.
