Grandpa's Malt Whisky
STUDENT PROJECT 2013
The brief was to create a whisky branding that would appeal to older generations that like to sit and relax next to the fireplace with a dram of whisky and remember their younger days. Location for a Balbeg distillery was chosen because of it's scenic views into Loch Ness Lake and surroundings ages ago. Unfortunately, due to the fire distillery was destroyed and only 20 years ago rebuilt by grandchildren. Everything was kept as a secret until whisky aged for a certain time and was bottled.
In order to get more personal, but contemporary feel label was created using a hand drawn typography
together with a sans serif font.
The main focus of the branding are illustrations of small things grandpa loved and enjoyed the most.
It was necessary to include them as a nice reminder of grandpa and his old distillery.
