Christo and Jeanne-Claude Tribute

An A2-sized tactile poster made entirely by hand, promoting a
fictional exhibition for the artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude.

A fictional exhibition of the artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude was to be held at the Singapore Art Museum, showcasing a range of their large scale works which usually involves textiles.

The artists' works usually plays around with the manipulation of shape and form, with light playing a primary factor. The poster, A2-sized and entirely handmade, echoes the designer's philosophy and style of art.

Close-up shots show how easily read the poster was even from different angles.
I felt it was important that the poster was easily read from different angles because the artists always invited the public to walk around their large scale works, so every nook and cranny had to be well-made.
A direct mailer to be sent to subscribers of the Singapore Art Museum, promoting the exhibition and inviting them to visit.
I decided to use the element of surprise for my promotional item to leave an impression.  Since it would be different from the usual magazines that come in the mail, they would be curious as to what is inside.

A tag attached on the outside questions the viewer, ‘Does it matter to you what’s inside?’ which would pique the curiosity of the recipient and urge them to open it. The irregular shape of the parcel was so that recipients would have no idea as to what is inside.

On the other hand, I was able to play around with manipulating the shape of the parcel with the use of string and cloth, which reflects on the style of the artists. Interested to know what is inside the oddly shaped package, they would open it, greeted with an invitation to attend the exhibition.

The invitation reads, apparently it does, and to the artists too, answering back to the question posed earlier. This implies that the artists has a though process behind their wrapped works, and also urges recipients to learn more at the exhibition
All feedback appreciated! Thanks!
