Wedding Invitations

The Brief: To design a wedding invitation for a young couple who are due to wed in September 2013. The couple wished for an invitation that was modern but still represented the traditionsof their respective families and their English and Scottish heritage.

The mix of English and Scottish is represented by the emblem logo, where the bow is finished with the national flowers of the two countries: the English rose and the Scottish Thistle. To create a sense of "unity" I took the first initials of both names (Lisa and Joel) and subtley connected them together, using the same letter type.

The RSVP card was drilled to create two 5mm holes that allows a tartan ribbon (the male family tartan) to tie the RSVP to the main card, as well as drawing the viewer eye to the back of the bow to reveal the location maps.

I hope you enjoyed viewing my project and feel free to leave comments or appreciations.
