I have a creativity technique that I love to use when I'm lacking of new ideas. It's just going to Wikipedia and drawing two random articles (there's a function on the left side). Now take the topics of these and create something new. You can also use this for specific tasks like combining articles with a color, a project you're working on, or a technique.
I haven't done this in a while, so here's another try. I picked:
1. Freudian dream analysis
2. A lake in bavaria
