SEDIA Chair

In this project I build from scratch the Sedia Chair, a design from Enzo Mari (1974).

I had to look for all kind of joint that could have this design instead of nails. Taking into account the original joints of this chair, I decided to maintain the basics and show that with a current screw the chair can have the best functionality. The main idea was to maintain the essence of the “simplicity” of the original chair.

To highlight this unions I decided to paint the screws with a bright red color. When joining two pieces I had to do a hole with the diameter of the screw in the first wood, and a smaller one in the second one. That way the screws are perfectly assembled.
