The movie I chose is Pan’s Labyrinth. I chose this movie because I really enjoyed this movie and because this movie has a lot of different elements that can be used to make an interesting poster.

For the design I want to go for a very minimal design like the examples below

I wanted to make certain scene which stuck with me for a long time as the main subject of the poster. The hand scene is quite popular and I think would make for an interesting subject.

I started by using the hand image as a sample to trace over it using the pentool. I found a color palette for the movie online and used it to pick some colors for the poster. After I made one hand i copied it into another layer and flipped it to make the other hand.

I used a very basic text because most minimal posters I saw also used a simple text which compliments the poster. I put the name of the movie below and the name of the director at the top. I also Made insides of the eyes white because that makes the eye ball easier to see. For the animation I decided to make the eyeballs move in different direction. I made the eyeballs move independently because that to me makes it a bit creepier. I made 12 frames and then reversed those frames to get a 24fps animation in Photoshop.

The First animation I made was not running smoothly. I think it was because the frames were too high quality so I decided to reduce the quality to 50%. After that it was okay.
