BHFABS Brand Identity
The Challenge
BHFABS (Bailey Hymas Fabrications) is a newly founded fabrications business that sells unique metal products which are made directly to order. Although it's still early days for BHFABS, they have received a great amount of interest in their products through their Facebook page. At the end of April, they reached out to us to help create their first ever identity that will allow them to build on the reputation they've recently established.
The Approach
Through a little initial research, we noticed that a majority of local fabrication businesses lacked an extensive brand identity and web presence, and we felt like this was our chance to change that, starting with BHFABS. We started building a strategic plan to outline where the business was heading and how it could get there. Ensuring that the way the business communicated, reflected the quality of its own products in a positive manner.
From some of the early conversations with the client, the slogan "Made To Order. Made To Last." seemed like the perfect fit. Not only is it clear and straight to the point, but it shows confidence they have in the quality of the products and is already backed by their previous customers.
We decided to take inspiration from the boldness of the fabrication industry, using sharp edges and being heavily influenced from stencil themed typography. Extensively focusing on how we can create something that combined all of those, while still being a little playful.
The Result
To help build this identity, we designed a pattern that was based on the logotype getting scaled at random sizes. This pattern, along with the colour scheme and typography system is used on printed materials to content for social media to promotional elements for their future website. The goal was to always make something that felt natural and came across as being flexible in the way it can be used regardless of the application.
