Practice Projects - Rendering
This is an ongoing project meant to improve my efficiency and presentation rendering techniques.
Most of these topics are from social media challenges which is an easy way to get a brief.
Each different topic had a timeline of a little under a week.
Kitchen Scale

This kitchen scale was inspired by a MacBook trackpad.
Minimalistic bead blasted aluminum.
Flashlight

This flashlight was inspired by the Neuralyzer from MIB with its vertical orientation.
The head of the flashlight can be rotated to increase / decrease the power of the light.
Keyshot Shader Ball

This was all about learning more about the material graph in Keyshot.
I was going for a molten hot / glowing material.
IR Thermometer

This was mostly an aesthetic modeling exercise.
Key features: power switch, activation trigger, and LED temperature display.
Glassware

This was an experiment with the glass material in Keyshot since I am unfamiliar with it.
These bourbon glasses have an opaque recessed surface where you would hold the them.
I was going for a vintage/grainy look to the overall composition.
Cookware

I have found a lot of people to not know what to do with the lid when this time comes.....
...and I have had this experience.
This concept focused around creating a way to store the lid when serving up food.
The lid would have a piece on its underside to hook onto the side of the pot.
I came to this idea after I tried modeling the original concept sketch, not being happy with it, making just a regular pot, the revisiting the model and adding this feature to the lid.
(Some renders are not the most recent concept, just more practice)
These images show how the lid hook feature would be used to store the lid while serving food.
POS (Point of Sale)

This was mostly a modeling aesthetic exercise.
The idea is for the employee to spin this system around when it is time for the customer to make payment so only one screen is needed for the process.
Boolean

This speaker concept was my first attempt at a modeling and rendering challenge like this.
The overall form is a simple boolean operation between a square and slightly larger circle.
