fabricate is a body of work that displays five deconstructed logotypes applied to correlating objects in order to explore the way our human minds are constantly attempting to create meaning and make sense of things around us. As part of my BFA show, I wanted to deconstruct a series of company and product logos that have been influential in my life experiences and travels. The logotypes were stripped of all identifying colors and divided into a grid, then the pieces were rearranged into compositions dissimilar to their original form. Using different methods and mediums, the shapes were then applied to objects that correspond to the products and services offered by the brand. Devoid of the original context, color and shape of the logotype, fabricate challenges our minds to recognize and make sense of these chaotic deconstructions to find meaning amid the disorder.
