This 5-week project was for McNett, a company that does accessories for camping. They were looking to expand their product line as well as look into ways of customizing camping gear.

I was inspired by their existing product, Utility Gruntline. http://www.mcnett.com/tactical/gruntline#68215
As simple as it is it has endless functionality and is perfect for the camper in need of lightweight gear.

My product, Utility Web, is an expansion of the gruntline idea and can be used by itself or in combination with it.

Below is a prototype in neoprene. In this prototype I cut out the holes by hand, but the way this web would really be manufactured is ideally in a mold. This would make holes that better resist tearing.

This project goes well with the company's existing product, The Utility Grunt Line, shown in some of the above pictures. Finally, customization. Part of the objective of this project was to find ways of customizing camping gear. The Utility Web can have basically any pattern.
