Sir Thomas Malory's Le Morte D'Arthure is a literary classic. A contemporary book cover was designed to appeal to a younger audience. The underlying themes of the book - love, war, royalty, treachery and family are portrayed ambigiously through the illustrative playing card depicting two sides. The card also represents a sense of gambling or chance in love and war -scenes depited in the book. A second typographic book cover was designed and the concept is similar to the illustrative cover depicting two sides. A blackletter font was mixed with a contemporary geometric font and when combined create interesting and contempory lettering representative of the themes and characters in the book.
