Brief
Rai-ny-land is a project that presents some of my hobbies
(music and sketching) and some skills acquired in VCC’s Graphic Design Program (storyboard, sketching, video editing).
Challenge
Represent the feeling of satisfaction in
immigrating to Vancouver - Canada in a video
with a maximum duration of 3 minutes.
Solution
Build a mini-video story about when my husband and I arrived in Vancouver using animations and representing our emotions along our journey by covering the theme song for the film La-la-land (rai-ny-land, Vancouver, our much-desired city).

Storyboard
The scenario composed of just me and my husband represents the way we arrived, just the two of us, no one else and the blank background is the representation of a new page to be written in our life.
The animations in the background illustrate remarkable moments that we lived here.
The Set
The animations were mixed with an unchanged scenario representing the reality of an immigrant’s life: empty apartment and start life from scratch.

Sketches and animated GIFs were developed in the
Procreate application.
