Illuminated Letter | Illustration
Design Brief: The goal for this student project was to create an Illuminated letter that reflects our personality and interests. We were to use the first letter of our first name as a centerpiece for this design. The requirements that were included for this project were the following:
- creation of pattern
- use of a symbol
- decorative type on a line (use words that describe our interests/personality in a very small font that it looks like a weighted line)
- imagery that represents aspects of ourselves
Research & Brainstorm: For this project the key elements I wanted to use to express my interest were plants, florals and various leave patterns. For my personality I chose to use words as the weighted line to represent myself and belief and incorporate that into my final design.

Develop the Design: After receiving feedback on my concept sketches from my instructor and peers I choose to focus on the first sketch feeling that it was the strongest of all my ideas. I used pieces and inspiration from a few others sketches to create the final concept sketch.
Feedback & Critique: After reviewing my in progress on my final concept sketch it was noted that my rough illustration was in a strong spot. It showed great composition and color scheme was well received.
