The Plätzwiese is a high alpine pasture at 2,000 metres in the Braies Dolomites, South Tyrol, with an overwhelming view of the surrounding mountains of the Dürrenstein and the Hohe Gaisl, until the view glides into the distance, where Monte Cristallo and the Tofane stretch their prongs into the air. The Hohe Gaisl with its reddish colouring - with 3146 meters the highest peak of the Braies Dolomites - forms the striking centre. The Plätzwiese is a UNESCO World Heritage panoramic terrace and has been integrated into the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park, so this jewel surrounded by mighty peaks has preserved its originality and naturalness.
