Šeiko Dance Company is an organisation cultivating modern dance. It runs dance and music performances, engaging art and performances in non-traditional environments, as well as education projects. The crew of the theater was founded in Klaipėda Lithuania, and during the past six years has grown and expanded its activity dramatically. Now it runs its projects in various countries and has already gained highest rewards in the dance scene. Šeiko Dance company communicates using an universal dance language where there is no room for censorship or restrictions.
When we got the task to create identity for the dance company, we were polishing our creative processes how to reflect the company name, yet do not establish it as a personal logo. Šeiko — is the surname of the main choreographer, however, dance performances are created by different artists all around the world. Therefore Šeiko + Šokio ("Dance" in Lithuanian) is a visual combination portraying both.
The identity of the dance theater tells us a lot of stories. We can notice and capture the lines of dance, recognise the feelings that arise while watching it, even feel a butterfly effect in our stomach. The elements of the identity create unique patterns which unfold in various communication channels and interact with photographs of the dances. All this enriches the identity allowing it to be extremely versatile.
