Last year, in honor of the Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, in September, the GoodType folks held their weekly #GoodTypeTuesday challenge, the theme being #SeizeTheAwkward, in collaboration with Seize The Awkward, an organization that shines light on issues regarding mental health. It has good resources for people to know what to do for someone they know who might need a helping hand. Sometimes it might be hard to have that kind of conversations but it's important to know in which way we can safely approach someone who's struggling and may find it hard to ask for help. The challenge was to either letter the name of the organization or a phrase you thought could help get the conversation started. And I've found that a simple "Are you ok?" could be a good starting point to help and support others. Just by showing you're there and they can count on you can make a huge impact.
