Séndic ¡Somos creadores!
The territories we visit cross the border site. We know stories, we change the look.
On the 31st anniversary of the enchantment of revolutionary guerrilla Raúl Séndic, Uruguayan from Chamangá [department of Flores], territory now occupied by agribusiness.
The roads we [trans] pass through are never free, so, in this graphic action, I revisited their texts/stories and images that I made during my time in Trinidad, capital of the department of Flores, central region of Uruguay. Séndic was a central turning point for the poor Uruguayan north in the second half of the 20th century. He defended rural peoples to the last consequences. A region very exploited by landowners and entrepreneurs who have always violated [and violate] labor rights.
He led the National Liberation Movement, known as "Tupamaros" and also as "unnamed", by the government of the time [I love it]. His vast culture in the struggles became poetic, in spectacular actions. The Movement that participated had a central focus on the formation of conscience, political criticism of culture, a topic that is very provocative to me.
Séndic remains essential.
