le plateau rouge

le plateau rouge // cao nguyên đỏ
𝙡𝙚 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙪 𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙚 / the red plateau / cao nguyên đỏ / is initially a homework in which i would choose one favorite quote and make illustrations (any type) to tell the meaning.

this is the one I picked:
𝙝𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙖 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙬 𝙪𝙥 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙬 𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙩𝙤 (John Ed Pearce)

originally, there were thirteen frames with longer text and confusing timeline. after a while, i managed to shorten scripts and reduce the frames down to twelve (such an effort lol). at first, the character was set to go through three difficulties to finally come back home. however, it would be a bit (no, pretty much) hard for me to demonstrate some scenes. hence, i took one out and arrange some necessary replacement for a new story line. all the text was hand-written by fountain pen in dark blue directly on the original paintings.

well, i try my best to reflect what the saying implies, put one or two peaks to express climax in a story.
hope it does smoothly emotionally lead you to the end of story.

Noé grows up in a plateau
by the aging forest rim, under the red leaf shade
the sun reaches down to the bush, like it always does
never has Noé left the place
to another plateau or any further ...
so he starts to go on a journey, crosses the plateau edge
riskily runs into the fabulous sceneries
Noé takes a long road
running down toward the lowland, longing for a place to bring him joy
unfortunately, cities do not bring him any cheers
Noé is in suffocation of the noise, the buses and the people hustling in subway
...
he thinks about how sun rays slip in the jungle, gently but fadeless
and he decided to move
leaving the lowland, Nóe heads to the snowy mountains, bearing vague thoughts of how this world defines happiness
arriving at the down of mountains, Nóe lets go off himself in tiredness.
the cold is falling down, beneath the thick freezing snow, but nostalgia is rising inside
...
by the breeze, Nóe hears in the ear
the rustling of leaves, the cozy smell of the sun
...
and he turns awake, in his mind
is the red of his plateau running around
tearing the snowy blow,
Nóe crosses millions of miles away, coming back to the blazing red plateau
no more noisy lowland, no more freezing snowhill
Nóe is back, reaches the edge of plateau
again
"here it is, my plateau
my home, my final destination
le plateau rouge"
