A student from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang. Majoring in Communication Graphic of School of the Arts, USM. Present here is my final year project in 2018. My project aims to create a visual identity and to promote durian as a special offering from Penang or as a tourism product and I have chosen Durian as my subject combining it with the heritage and culture of Penang. The visuals in this project are based on targeting the young generation to experience durian and the local heritage of Penang. Its emphasis on the uniqueness of durian in a fun way through popular local street arts.

The function of the mobile application is to enable the tourist to experience durian and Penang like never before. The mobile application enables a user to locate durian stalls all over Penang along with tourism spot surrounding it using a GPS tracking system. Users are also able to share their experience through pictures and texts on the apps. The Durian Penang mobile apps will also provide various information about durian and local fruits such as their benefits and also how to identify and select the best one. The bonus point of using this app is that the user can collect points and redeem it for discounts at selected durian stalls.

The design of the icon consists of a freshly open durian with its succulent flesh inside and a unique local street sign.

To enhance the campaign to promote the durian as a tourism product of Penang, various type of merchandise and promotional items such as interactive street art, table triangle standee, mineral water bottle, tissue box, paper bags, mini flag for durian, notebook, fridge magnets, postcards, and also a mobile sticker for Facebook and We Chat. Those items are created based on the needs of the user that can be placed at the durian stalls and as a souvenir.
Two exhibitions were being held, the first one was held at Adiwarna Gallery and Balai Pesiban Agung at School of the Arts, Universiti Sains Malaysia from 2nd till 7th May 2018 while the second one was held at The Whiteaways Arcade, Penang from the 12th till 14th May 2018.

Minor Project: Durian Dodol Packaging Design
My minor project is a packaging design for another side product from durian which is known as Dodol Durian. The product is a sweet toffee-like sugar palm-based confection with the mixture of durian flesh commonly found in Southeast Asia. It is commonly packaged in the shape of a pyramid locally.
The concept of my packaging design is based on the shape of the original packaging of the durian dodol itself. The shape of the pyramid enables it to save space in the transportation process of the product in cartons besides making it looks more attractive. The packaging it has a window at the front and back to allow the consumer to view the product inside. The nutritional and manufacturer information is placed on the left and right side of the packaging. To open the packaging consumer need to open the top cover and break it into two to extract the individual packaging of the durian dodol which represent the method of opening an actual durian.
