The Residential Complex
Programmatic Hierarchy
BU Housing + Amenities
Conceptual Ideas: Providing each resident with access to their own secluded green-scape and views outward. Likewise, green spaces were used on the street edges to draw visitors and create a sense of community within the area.
The semester partner long project included a site with a 34' drop down to I-93. These challenges combined with near by railroad tracks, a varying program set, and an extremely large square-footage number were a few of our parameters set.
Deciding to address the grade change, the site was separated into two sections. One section was at the top of the site at street level, which was a solid platform that allowed the highway to pass through underneath. The second half of the site included a residential building with stepping terraces all the way down to the base of the site.
