The Staten Island Ferry connects the lowest part of Manhattan with Staten Island. It’s a great way to see the Statue of Liberty (you need a different ship to enter Liberty Island – but I heard the lady is open again) and Ellis Island.

 

But the best of it: It’s free! Completely free. Once you are in Staten Island you might need to change to a different ferry for the way back though.
