viershaformy (calligraphy and poetry project)

Viershaformy is a visual project at the junction of calligraphy and poetry. The idea is to capture a note (an image) of a single poem in a visual form without showing a particular subject.

The visual note may be seen from different angles, and different parts of a single Viershaform can be recognised as a letter, an object or an inner image.

There is a movement and a dynamic which is shown in Viershaformy, but this movement is captured in a one still form, outside which is either a material world or an empty static space.
An original idea of Viershaformy, a year before the above material, was a bit different - it was about visual poetic interventions into an everyday life. Viershaformy were inserted into library books, into promotional magazines, into random places in the city and were (un)found in a randomized way. There were still no thoughts about a single image of a poem, rather there were ideas of capturing dynamic and emotional writing. I was still lacking calligraphy skills and was depicting an original idea only with intuition and emotions. This is still an important point when creating Vershaformy now, but during that year between those two "generations" of Vershaformy I was trying out different materials and tools while also improving calligraphy skills.

There is a short video about this first, original generation of Vershaformy and about such interventions (English subtitles):
The idea of Viershaformy will be continued, combining some aspects of both the original and the newer idea.
