A graduate of Purdue University, Amy Kennelly Viellieu volunteers at the Posse Foundation in Chicago, in addition to serving as a scholarship evaluator at the Daniel Murphy Scholarship Fund. Outside of her professional work, Amy Kennelly Viellieu enjoys learning the Italian language, and even studied at the Lucca Italian School in 2019.

Since its founding in 2010, the Lucca Italian School has offered students an alternative way of learning the Italian language through immersive study-abroad programs. Students live near the school, which is located in the historic center of Lucca in northwestern Tuscany, while learning about the language, culture, art, and traditions of Italy.
