Murmuration at Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art 2019-2020
The project located at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA) is a site-specific work conceived and developed in relation to the concept of flocking birds.
The project takes on highly ambitious ideas to produce a work that is equally effective during the day as a sculptural, sonic work and as a light and sound-based piece during the night.
- Day time brings murmurateing birds flock and flow around you in the sun.
- Dawn and Dusk the work turning into a powerful series of harmonising cords.
- Night is coloured with a blast of colour and sharp washes of sound.
The work has been on display outside The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art since November 2019 – May 2020
During the development of such a large scale site specific sculptural project, 3d models and visualisations were create for developing designs and structural guidance.
Below are a series of images which were used for the design pre installation and produced after in commemoration of the project.
