Time _____  Moscow, Russia

No war scene, nor apocalypse or violence, no picture complexity, no motion. Taking time. This series of photographs suggests first the coldness of a building, inertia, abandonment, life escaping from a desolate place. Yet, the eye goes beyond the lowered blinds, piercing through the cold to find the warmth of a home. Everything is suggested, but considering one’s nature, we come to retrieve life. Have time.

A freezing parallel which drives us to our condition. In a sober way, the viewer can almost feel the surrounding silence, cold, burdensome. Yet, it is one’s role to imagine life behind these lowered blinds. Extraordinary days contrasting with these stark takes. A freeze frame in which everything is ongoing, in silence, away from sight, letting nothing show. Taking time, for our eyes to analyze, prepare a coffee, extrapolate, and stare at the building accross from the window, think, imagine.

Shots from the “No Man's Land” series presented here, were exposed at Lyon (Taverne Gutenberg).
