لطالما اعتز المسلمون بحضارة الأندلس، ودائماً ما كانت ذكراها حزينة ومفرحة في قلوبهم بنفس الوقت! ، فما وصل إليه أهلها من علم وتقدم وحضارة تشهد له حتى اليوم نقوشات الزخارف على القصور هناك، وطريقة بنائها وإتقانهم في تجميلها، هذا الشعور اتجاه "الفردوس المفقود" -كما يسمي البعض اليوم الأندلس- انعكس في مجموعة من الناس مجتمعة في حي واحد اتفقوا على تسميته حي الأندلس، وهو الكائن في مدينة السادس من أكتوبر بمحافظة الجيزة بمصر، فكان الشعار مستوحاً من كلمة (ولا غالب إلا الله) الموجودة بكثافة على حوائط قصر الحمراء بغرناطة
