Identity and Tactile Design
I wanted to create a bespoke, contemporary piece of art that served a purpose. A passion for form, design, functionality and sustainability inspired the creation of this Ora lampshade. Using leather as a point of difference, I sought to make striking piece of artwork, a one off creation that carried an ambience of soothing, soulful energy and spoke of a love of the natural world.

Exploration of natural forms and patterns has culminated in an abstract, down to earth, modern persona for the lampshade. It speaks of fun, frivolvity and the laid back attitude of kiwis, of timeless sophistocation, and mostly a love for nature.
An admiration for the effects of light, and the ability to manipulate this lead us to explore patterns that have been integrated into the leather. These give artwork an inspiring, intriguing and thought provoking quality.
Many hours of handcrafting went into producing the lampshade, making each rich with an aura and energy that is unrivalled. Alongside this I created an identity and brand collateral to market the product, appealing to 30+ career woman with expendable income and a passion for unique and one-off design.
