CCP not the Chinese people need to answer for pandemic

Xi Jinping’s China did this
The corrupt, criminal regime wasted 40 days blocking information while it crushed domestic dissent and ensured COVID-19 would become a global pandemic

There is authoritative and compelling evidence — including a study from the University of Southampton — that if interventions in China had been conducted three weeks earlier, transmission of COVID-19 could have been reduced by 95 percent.
For 40 days, President Xi Jinping’s CPC concealed, destroyed, falsified, and fabricated information about the rampant spread of COVID-19 through its state-sanctioned massive surveillance and suppression of data; its misrepresentation of information; its silencing and criminalising of its dissent; and its disappearance of its whistleblowers.

Yes, Blame China for the Virus
A bungled response in Western countries is no reason to take the heat off China. If China had a different government, the world could have been spared this terrible pandemic.

U.S. President Donald Trump has repeatedly referred to the “Chinese virus” when talking about the pandemic. Many of his critics insist the term is racist, echoing official Chinese talking points. Others, such as U.S. Sen. Kelly Loeffler, say that we should not politicize the crisis by assigning blame, but focus on pulling together in the common fight against a global disease that makes no distinction between people and recognizes no borders.

This is nonsense. The crisis is inherently political because it was caused in part by incompetent, malicious, and corrupt politicians. To ignore the political dimension of the coronavirus pandemic is an excellent way to ensure it happens again. If we do not want another global pandemic, we have to hold accountable the politicians responsible for making it worse, chief among them Chinese President Xi Jinping. He did not create the novel coronavirus, but his government’s missteps are directly responsible for its global transmission and uncontrolled spread, with all its terrible consequences to populations and economies around the world.

A global pandemic is not a blind force of nature independent of human agency. It is a failure of governance. An analogy with famines is useful. Nobel Prize-winning economist Amartya Sen has explained in his excellent book, Development as Freedom, that famines are not primarily an absence of food, but an absence of information about food, coupled with a problem of transportation. There is, physically speaking, enough food on the planet for everyone. If you know where food is and where hungry people are, and you can get the one to the other, people do not starve. That is why established free-market democracies, which allow the free flow of information and markets, have no famines.

Wuhan (International) coronavirus death toll exceeds 100,000:

UK and French death tolls jump by 980 and 987, respectively, as Italy extends weeks-long lockdown until May 3.

The Pirbright Institute is a biological research organization based in Surrey, England. The organization specializes in studying animal viruses and zoonotic diseases that transfer from animals to people. While the institute does hold a patent for a coronavirus that primarily affects chickens, it does not hold a patent on any part of the novel coronavirus causing the current COVID-19 pandemic.
“The foundation provides the Pirbright Institute with funding to conduct research and surveillance on viral diseases that affect farm animals and viruses that have the potential to spread from animals to humans,” a representative from the Gates Foundation told USA TODAY. “We have not funded the development of Pirbright’s coronavirus vaccine for livestock.”
Claims that Bill Gates or the Gates Foundation helped to create and patent the novel coronavirus are unfounded. The Gates Foundation is jointly funding an initiative to speed the pace of research into treatments for COVID-19.
"The COVID-19 Therapeutics Accelerator is designed to help by bringing together resources and expertise to lower the financial and technical risk for academia, biotech, and pharmaceutical companies, while ensuring that these products are accessible and affordable to people in low-resource settings," a press release on the project reads.

Let me be clear, there is no way I personally believe the Chinese people are responsible for the virus - the Chinese Communist Party on the other hand are clearly complicit.

Gilead Sciences as the government rushes to find the cure for the deadly coronavirus, a move that could raise questions on intellectual property and marketing rights.
The state-backed Institute of Virology in Wuhan filed the patent for using remdesivir to fight the novel coronavirus on January 21, according to statement posted  on its website two weeks later on February 4. If approved, the drug will be used to facilitate its potential global market entry, it added.
Studies have been conducted outside the human bodies and found that Gilead’s remdesivir compound and the off-patent chloroquine malaria drug are both “highly effective” in the control of coronavirus infection, the Wuhan institute and the Beijing Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology said in a  research published in Cell Research Journal.
“Since these compounds have [separately] been used in human patients with a safety track record and shown to be effective against various ailments, we suggest that they should be assessed in human patients suffering from the novel coronavirus disease,” the researchers wrote.
A spokeswoman for the Foster City, California-based company said it had invented remdesivir, and had filed patent applications for the compound and its uses against coronaviruses globally, including in China, in 2016. The application in China is still pending.
“We are aware of reports of the Wuhan Institute for Virology’s patent application,” Sonia Choi, Gilead’s vice president of public affairs, said in an email reply to the South China Morning Post. “Our focus at this time is on rapidly determining the potential for remdesivir as a treatment for [the novel coronavirus] and accelerating manufacturing in anticipation of potential future supply needs.”
