I've been commissioned by Underdevelopment Office
to liven up their office space with a history of spacesuits theme.
It's been an inspiring project and it was full of fun facts to learn.
Always happy to find out new things, so I chose my 8 and got to work!
I chose the most representative ones, starting with Gemini (Mercury) suit from the 60's.
The selection includes explorer and pilot suits, from the US and Russia (the Chinese
was really similar to the Russian one).
I started with one of the illustrations and after the style was defined,
I proceeded with all the others at the same time to keep the compositions in check.
I started drawing in Adobe Fresco since
vector was the needed output. They would be human size.
These guys have been my inspiration for the whole process.
Many of these have awesome details, and the research phase was
really interesting. They all follow a common pattern, so once you get
the hang of it it's really easy to see how the designers chose one thing
over the other.
Thank you for watching!
