The Spring Festival is one of the most important festive celebrations in the city of Murcia. It is celebrated the week after the religious feast of Holy Week. The festival hosts a multitude of events and activities. One of them, the “Bando de la Huerta”, is a day of exaltation of the orchard traditions in which the vast majority of people from Murcia take the streets, dressed with the regional typical costume.
Something very identifying about these costumes is the large number of ornaments and the quality and variety of their embroidery. To design the poster we were inspired by the floral shapes of these embroideries. In addition to being elements typical of spring, they are also well-recognized symbols in the mind of people from Murcia.
The motto of the poster "Spring begins in Murcia" plays with the double meaning: on the one hand, it is a way of announcing the early arrival of good weather and on the other, the beginning of the festivities.

Las Fiestas de Primavera son una de las celebraciones festivas más importantes de la ciudad de Murcia. Se celebran la semana siguiente a la fiesta religiosa de Semana Santa. En ellas tienen lugar multitud de eventos y actividades. Uno de ellos, el Bando de la Huerta, es un día de exaltación de las tradiciones huertanas en el que la inmensa mayoría de los murcianos se echan a la calle, ataviados con el traje típico regional.
Algo muy identificativo de estos trajes es la gran cantidad de ornamentos, la calidad y variedad de sus bordados. Para realizar el cartel nos inspiramos en las formas florares de estos bordados. Además de ser elementos propios de la primavera, también son símbolos muy reconocidos en el imaginario de los murcianos.
El lema del cartel “La primavera empieza en Murcia” juega con el doble sentido: por un lado es una manera de anunciar la temprana llegada del buen tiempo y por otro el comienzo de las fiestas.
