The Keepers is a Netlfix series documentary that examines the decades-old murder of Sister Catherine Cesnik and its suspected link to a priest accused of abuse. The goal was to design a DVD slip and DVD cover that provide the consumer a feeling of what’s in store for them if they watch the film and to hint at the storyline.
The Concept
I decided to design this DVD cover and DVD slip dark and moody simply because of the horrific events that took place in this story and to also showcase the mood this documentary gives. I wanted it to be mysteries and intriguing but also hint at who and what the documentary is about like for instance, showing the bible, showing that she a nun on the front of the DVD slip and some articles titled "missing nun" and "city police fail to find" on the DVD cover.
