...or the so-called "Little Vienna". Situated on the Danube, Rousse has some of the most impressive buildings, built in the end of the 19'th and the beginning of the 20'th century in Bulgaria or as we call it during "The post-liberation period".
The nickname of the town is related to the rich neo-baroque architecture of the buildings.
Today most of them are preserved and more and more examples are being restored.
