The Client: Highland Provisions
Highland Provisions cultivates and distributes cannabis products in the great state of Oregon.
The Brief:
What makes cannabis a $10 billion industry and growing? For Highland Provisions, it’s all about the science. Their team of chemists, biologists and horticulturalists was steeped in knowledge and process but lacked a name or a way to tell their story. Before they could distribute their collection of prerolls, oils, gummies and a bunch of other tasty nugs throughout the Beaver State, they needed a brand that captured the quality and professionalism of their undertaking—something to spark the imagination of budtenders and consumers statewide.
The Solution:
Looking outside category conventions, Gershoni developed a brand system that functioned as a lifestyle, combining the founders’ love of nature with the science that underlays everything. At a time when cannabis brands were going ultra-glossy or vintage hipster, we brought the rustic allure of the Deschutes Forest and Cascade Mountains to the front and designed packaging with portability in mind: reusable tins that store fly-fishing lures as well as they do gummies or prerolls. We rooted it with a digital presence that gives them an outpost for future extensions of the brand, a home to return after a day in the lab, on the trail or wherever their spirit leads them.
