World Burn Foundation - Faces

30 million people in South Africa live in informal settlements, which are shacks that consist of nothing more than cardboard, wood and metal sheeting. Built in close proximity to one another, the settlements become a tinderbox during the winter months, killing thousands. This campaign depicts the real faces of actual victims killed in these fires. The illustrations were created by Diane Victor who used soot from candles and charcoal to complete the images.
