Korean Traditional Stationery, <Moon Bang Sa Woo> Design

Byeoru (Inkstone), Muk (Ink), Boot (Brush),
Seojin (Paperweight), Yeonjuk (Waterdropper), Tray

2020.

CONCEPT.

Through a modern interpretation of Moon Bang Sa Woo, a traditional set of Korean stationery, we wanted to let the moderners, who are exhausted by the busy life, feel the pleasure of living a relaxed and calm life, just like the Seonbi (virtuous scholars during the Goryeo & Joseon Era) of the past.

Slowly grind the Muk while organizing your thoughts, then express them through your brush and your fountain pen.

The shape resembles the Octagonal Pavilion floating on the pond, allowing the user to remind the beauty of Korea’s traditional culture.

Ideation

Slowly pour.

Pour the water into the inkstone.

Softly grind the ink.

Melt the ink in water.

Divided into two parts, the ink will flow into the opposite side when you grind it on one side.

You can use two different types of ink (with different colors) at the same time.

You can use the brush, pen, ink, and tray by putting them on the tray.
