Thrissur Pooram festival
The Thrissur Pooram is the largest Hindu festival in the state of Kerala. This large gathering takes place every year on Pooram Day (between April and May) at the foot of the Vadakkunnathan Temple in Thrissur. Created in honor of the gods and goddesses, this ritual procession unites in a celebration of more than 36 hours the ten temples located around the Vadakkunnathan Temple. During the festival, more than fifty elephants parade in front of a large crowd.
