Pardon vs Pardon is my final year project that investigates how type can help communication and my area of research focuses on occupational language – jargon. The intent of my project is to convey the importance of a clear communication through a conversation context and how typography can be used to affect interpretation. I have based on two typefaces and customized them to illustrate the nature of the two professions.
In the exhibition, I used posters to present a conversation between two professions and the installation uses a "go-around" system to reflect the idea of "looping" caused by misleading language - jargon. The space in between posters allows viewers focus on one poster at a time.
