The Mysterious Green Goo is a children's book developed by Marie Theresa Anthony and I. This collaboration was an entry for Scholastic Picture Book Award, a joint initiative between Singapore Book Council and Scholastic Asia.
The project brief was to create a picture book with distinct Asian theme by a writer and an illustrator team of Asian descent living in Asia.
The Mysterious Green Goo documents Maia's journey discover a popular asian breakfast spread called Kaya. What she initially thought was gooey, disgusting and yucky, was actually a glorious bottle of delicious coconut jam!
(Kaya is a type of coconut jam, made with coconut milk, eggs and sugar)
