My hometown is Granollers, Catalonia, and every year the municipality organizes a contest to choose the artist who will design the poster of the "Fiesta Mayor" of that year. It's the most important event of the city. I participated in the contest, together with my designer friend Alberto Perez.

As every town or city, Granollers has his own folklore and old stories. There is a big bestiary, that includes creatures that represent some parts of the city. The most popular are dragons, like Gralla (the long-neck dragon you can see in the header). But you can find Can Bassa's Frog, or "Capgrossos", creatures with a huge head (the Moon and the Sun are the most loved ones) as well. This folklore is present during the whole festival, having their own special show, like their own dance or a fire show.

Albert created the final compo for A3 poster. Also, to show how the image will work, he designed, as an example, several pages of a fictional agenda and a duotone image, for the newpaper edition.
